Why does fighting corruption matter? I remember growing up learning that fighting corruption was not important because no one could see the consequences of some types of this crime. That it was normal for unqualified people to obtain high level jobs in the government, due to having personal or political contacts. However, especially now with the pandemic, it became clear the importance of having the best reliable professionals and transparent policies to deal, for example, with the acquisition of vaccines and medication. This emphasizes the need to fight corruption globally.
